South Wake Christian Athletics and the South Wake Football organization exists to provide young men with the opportunity to experience competitive football in a Christian environment with the goal of growing them as both followers of Christ and as football players.
We strive to make better football players, but ultimately to develop future husbands and fathers. For 20 years our organization operated under the HFL (Homeschool Football League) as the South Wake Crusaders. This year we've undergone a complete rebuild and rebranding of the organization to make it even stronger from top to bottom. 2023 is our inaugural season as the South Wake Lions. It may be a new name, but our principles have only gotten stronger.
We currently offer both Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity football opportunities for young men ages 13-18. Our players are coached with an emphasis on developing Christian morals and good sportsmanship. Coaches, as well as players, are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to building a league based on biblical principles of the Christian faith. As we continue to build our programs, we will base our development, conduct and decisions on the foundation and principles of the Christian faith. Athletes are taught fundamentally sound football skills and participate in regular devotions at each practice designed to grow Christian disciples who will have opportunities to play this out in the trenches of tackle football!
